The Summer of the Hornets is Holly Andres' latest photographic series, which illustrates a story of two young sisters allured by a hornet's nest found in the woods behind their house, and the traumatic consequences of their discovery. As with Andres' previous work, the premise of this project is loosely based on a real-life account in which her sister was horribly attacked when a hornet’s nest was disrupted. Frozen with fear the little girl was stung over one hundred times. Her sister who survived the attack, now a mother of her own two daughters, and her husband are portrayed as the family in the series.
