Charles A. Hartman Fine Art is pleased to present Ansel Adams: Photographs 1920s - 1960s, an exciting selection of rare original prints by the American master. Focusing on the heart of Adams' rich career, this selection of photographs features many of Adams' famous classic images as well as lesser known gems that serve both to contextualize and inform our understanding of the depth of Adams' oeuvre. The exhibition includes vintage contact prints as well as later enlargements, presenting the viewer with a survey of the evolution of Adams' vision both in the making of photographs and the interpretation of his negatives. This is a unique opportunity to see and acquire original prints by this tremendously important photographer.

Born in San Francisco in 1902, Ansel Adams went on to become one of the most famous artists of the twentieth century. In a career that spanned six decades, Adams' images surveyed the grandeur of the American West and played an important role in its continued preservation. Adams' iconic photographs have been published and exhibited worldwide and are present in hundreds of major museum collections.
